Breaking in period

My 950 is my first new bike, so the first one I am breaking in. My question is if it would be a problem if I pass the 1000 km (600 ml) before I get the first service done? How many can I drive over or would be acceptable?

I have my service planned half august, yet drive half the length that is adviced by Ducati. I try to reschedule the service, but am in a bit of a doubt that will be possible.

I just had my first service dome at 840 miles. The service manager looked at my dash info as soon as I came into the shop but all he commented on was my 52 MPG. I expect you will not have any worries as long as you are under 1500 km.

Thanks, makes me a bit more secure.
Called the dealer today but could not fit me in earlier. He told me I was fine as long as I would keep checking my oil. Asked if 2000 km would be ok too and he said yes.
I can live with another 2 weeks not passing the 6 rpm, but having the bike in te barn because else I will drive too much too early is a pain.

52 is very nice. In what mode and riding style do you get this mpg?
I ride almost only sport and get 43.

Most was in sport mode. For the 120 mile ride I put it in Touring mode - but I modified touring mode to have full engine power. I think the 52 mpg was due to break in rpm, keeping below 6000 and 7000.
Not that I am past breakin I am enjoying the growl it makes at 9000, Mpg has dropped to 44. But I am loving this motor!

Hahaha, yes I can understand. Can't wait till I can explore the higher rpms. 44 is still a decent average I think.
